Compatibility

In everything we do one of the most difficult things is knowing where to draw the line in terms of making things work for the most people, and the amount of time and effort that is likely to take.

In designing this website we have constantly tested on all of the latest incarnations of Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera, Safari and Google Chrome. We have also checked some backward compatibility with Internet Explorer 7, although it's safe to say there are a few issues we still want to deal with.

However, we made the decision at an early stage that we weren't going to spend a great deal of effort making things perfect for Internet Explorer 6 (IE6). To be honest it's really old technology now and can't support some of the newer coding that's available to make the web experience more exciting. Alongside this we considered that only around 10% of web users are still using IE6, it is no longer supported by Microsoft and has some pretty severe security vulnerabilities.

The good news is that by complete chance the website looks ok and does actually work in IE6 with the exception of a few little features that you might not even notice so we're not going to be installing an annoying pop-up telling you that you should upgrade your browser.

That said, if you're still using IE6 or an older version of any other browser for that matter, you may want to consider upgrading to make sure you're as secure possible and get the most from the web. Which one you use is entirely up to you and we're not going to say which we like best!
